2nd-gen Escalades are shockingly fast. I imagine the 3rd and 4th gen even more so because they have about 75hp more, but still... dat 2nd gen surprisingly quick
Pretty much identical to the one in question.

Thankfully, most owners have put big, heavy 24" wheels on them as a Harrison Bergeron-esque handicap to ensure the police can catch them. I think it’s required by law.

This guy sure hadn’t. Fucking thing MOVED. I had him off the line on part throttle because less weight, but by the time I realized what he was doing and put it down I could barely hold him off.
Of course this is all hypothetical.

I know a few people that put superchargers on theirs, and used them to mess with people.

Can confirm, my sister has one. That 6.0 is a sweet motor.

I really want one of these or a Yukon Denali. Fast/Comfortable/Reliable/Good Looks, everything I want in an SUV.

I was amazed by the new one. Put your foot down and it just goes.

If this one had been supercharged it would have blown the doors off me. As it was I was ahead, but only just.
That’s awesome though. I’d do that

I kinda want to try one...
And then we have the Sierra. Same engine, less weight. I love it, but it’s just too big for my liking. At this point.

Even in a 14-passenger minibus, the 6.0 has plenty of power. In something the size of a Tahoe, you’ve got a sleeper right there.

Some friends used to have a 3500 Express passenger van. That thing would move out.
We actually timed it (ish, using the tools at hand) with the blinking of the dash clock once... looked like mid-high 7's. That’s pretty unlikely, so I usually figure about a second in error... which is still quite impressive for a large van. With 360,000km on it. That was beat every day of it’s life. (Seriously, beat. This van went through a family of 8 kids, none of them who are gentle on vehicles.)

The Sequoia with the 2UZ is pretty quick as well. It sneaks up on you as I’ve gotten 2 tickets in 2 separate ones... Only one ticket in my daily driven and lots of road trip used LS400

Sounds about right to me. That’s why I just roll my eyes at those who insist that everything ever touched by GM is crap. Sure, their interiors may not be top of the class (or sometimes suck completely), but if you want a vehicle that will get you there no matter how much you abuse it, get yourself an old GM truck. Or even a crap-ass J-body.

Hmmm, I’ll have to find one and aggravate the driver... ;)
Speaking of sneaking up on you, I had that problem a bit last week. I was driving my truck with a MINIMUM load of 4 passengers for about a week before that, and usually a full bed of some kind of luggage as well. When I went back to commuting with just me and an empty bed it’s like “oh shit this is a “x” zone”.
That’s the kind of power I like. Effortless, subtle, smooth acceleration.

Switching between a sedan and SUV is what got me both times. The perception is so much different.

Aren’t they the same size?

The Lexus GX isn't any slouch either. Way faster than it has any right to be.

The 2UZ delivers power so nicely in general. Im looking for any vehicle with a 2UZ for off road duties right now.

Tundra or v8 4Runner come to mind.

I meant compared to my truck (1st gen Colorado). Sierra and Escalade are to all intents and purposes the same size, yeah.

Also GX470, LX470, FJ100, and Sequoia
